Luton Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Luton Removals has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains. Luton Removals is committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Luton Removals has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and any form of exploitation. We expect the same high standards from all our employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers and any other business partners we engage with.
All working relationships must be voluntary and based on mutual respect. No worker should ever be coerced, threatened, deceived or otherwise forced into employment. We do not tolerate any practices that restrict freedom of movement, withhold identity documents or impose unreasonable financial or personal constraints on workers.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Luton Removals provides professional removal and relocation services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, technology, cleaning services and labour providers. We recognise that some of these areas, particularly labour provision and outsourced services, may carry greater risk of modern slavery and require closer monitoring.
We are committed to identifying and assessing potential risk areas in our supply chains and implementing proportionate controls to minimise those risks. This includes considering geographic risk, sector risk and the nature of the services or goods supplied.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Luton Removals undertakes due diligence on all key suppliers and aims to work only with organisations that share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of this process, we seek to:
Require confirmation from suppliers that they comply with applicable modern slavery and human trafficking legislation and that they do not engage in or support such practices in any part of their operations.
Assess the policies and procedures of higher-risk suppliers, including any measures they have in place to prevent modern slavery within their own supply chains.
Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers where we consider this necessary and proportionate to the level of risk.
Terminate relationships with suppliers who are unwilling or unable to demonstrate adequate steps to prevent modern slavery, or where credible concerns are not promptly and effectively addressed.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Luton Removals encourages anyone who becomes aware of, or suspects, modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains to report their concerns without delay. We take all reports seriously and will act promptly and fairly to investigate.
Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or directly to senior leadership. Reports may be made by employees, workers, suppliers, subcontractors, customers or any other stakeholders. We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers victimisation, retaliation or any other detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement, regulatory authorities and other relevant organisations in investigating and addressing any reports relating to modern slavery.
Training, Awareness and Responsibilities
Managers and those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management are responsible for understanding the risks of modern slavery in their areas and for applying this policy in practice. We aim to raise awareness among relevant staff about the signs of modern slavery and the appropriate channels for reporting concerns.
Our leadership team is responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of this statement, ensuring it is communicated within the business and supporting continuous improvement in our approach to modern slavery risk management.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
Luton Removals is committed to reviewing and improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through periodic assessment of supplier compliance, internal reporting of concerns, and management reviews of identified risks.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, business operations or identified risk. Following each review, we will update the statement as necessary and refine our procedures to strengthen prevention, detection and response.
By maintaining a robust zero-tolerance stance, actively engaging with suppliers and providing clear reporting channels, Luton Removals aims to contribute to the wider effort to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking from the removal and logistics sector.
